In this bathroom, we chose a statement hex floor that packs a real wow factor. Paired with other mid-century design elements, we created a visually exciting space that feels funky, yet refined.

Mid-century modern wallpaper was all about playful bold patterns and daring designs. Often, colors like mustard yellow and avocado green were used, but for a toned-town approach, consider a more neutral option and instead feature bold colors through your decor and accessories.

Palm leaves, geometrics and orbital patterns are all great options for a mid-century home.

Wood PAIRED WITH TERRAZZO
During the mid-20th century there was a rise in the use of new materials such as plexiglass and laminate. However, one of the materials that is most synonymous with mid-century design has been around for thousands of years, and that material is terrazzo! Terrazzo is a composite material that is made by pouring a solid layer of concrete then embedding small pieces of marble, stone, glass or other materials into the surface. Afterwards, the surface is set, dried, ground, polished and sealed which results in a beautifully detailed and colored surface that can be used on floors, walls or countertops.
Another popular mid-century element is the use of mid-range wood tones, like walnut and teak. When you pair these two elements together, you’ll create an iconic mid-century flair!
